Oscar at the Bilar man-made forest

Oscar, rent vehicle driver at Bilar, Bohol's man-made forest

I’ve always wanted to get a portrait of someone at Bilar’s (Bohol) man made forest for quite some time ever since I saw the tall trees curving at the top, making a close canopy that resembles a gothic cathedra’s lancet.

That wish came true last Saturday when, with my friend, Eduard, we went to Carmen to see the Chocolate Hills and passed this magical place. Oscar, the driver, was a willing model and, upon my directions posed. I made sure the treetops were a blur by using a 50mm f/1.8 and framing him with it.

Next time, I would want to use a longer lens and see the effect.

Rexona Run landscapes

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

I’m always intrigued with the urban landscape and, being a runner for a few months now, I have been mulling of doing work related to this sport. I haven’t exactly sat down and pondered and planned about this but have been experimenting now and then. Will it be portraits? Or what about landscapes taken at race events venues. But still, I’m not so sure about the approach. Below are just some studies.

Check some portraits at my blog, FITandRUN.INFO.

Architectural study at the Thunderbird Resort

I’m currently with 9 other bloggers having been invited for a two night stay here at Thunderbird Resort, Poro Point, La Union. Of course, they’re hoping to tap new media via blogs as part of their promotions. Initially, I was hesitant of joining but having seen the Santorini inspired architecture, I decided to just join and do some shots. Here’s one that I did early this afternoon before the rains postponed our activities.

Waiting in Pagadian City

A tricycle's window perfectly frames a woman while waiting for someone in the street near the market in Pagadian City

While waiting for the tricycle to leave for Ditaroy Falls in Pagadian City, I caught this woman waiting for someone. The view and framing was just so interesting that I took my camera with an ultrawide lens and took her photo.
