While covering the Cebu City Marathon 2011 in Cebu, I saw these two ladies who were obviously coming from the Basilica del Sto. Nino for the nearing feast day on the 3rd Sunday of January.

James at the balangay docked at Manila Bay

While touring around the city of Manila with travel bloggers James and Karlo, we dropped by at the balangays anchored at the Manila Bay near the CCP grounds.

Replicas of the original seagoing vessel that the ancestors of Filipinos used in seafaring and trading, the two vessels plus the support boat arrived after a 14 month voyage around the Philippines and Southeast Asia. Check out for more info at their website.

A Malabon marian fluvial procession

Monday, December 13th, 2010

I was fortunately invited by Richard Bautista to visit and check what Malabon City has to offer and I wasn’t disappointed. From heritage houses, great food and interesting history, I was full and wanting for more! It was also good that it was Barangay Concepcion’s Immaculate Conception feast day and I was treated to a fluvial procession overflowing with faith and revelry.

The passenger of a Guimaras bound motorized pump boat

While on a trip from Iloilo to the small island province of Guimaras, I shot this man waiting for his turn to disembark from the motorized pumpboat that carried us over sea. The province is famed for its sweet mangoes and motorbike/mountainbike adventure trails and its beautiful beaches and coves. In this trip, my first, was just to visit the Spanish colonial era church of Navalas.

The travel bloggers in Pangasinan

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010

I was with 9 other travel bloggers on a group initiated trip to Pangasinan over the weekend and got to shoot them with a series of portraits. Really had great fun and enjoyed the trip very much. Except for that cave incident.
