I got nominated for two international Photography events

Monday, March 21st, 2011

I am pressured. Greatly pressured to submit work and I’m still not sure what to submit. First, I was nominated to the National Geographic All Roads Photography Program 2011 for the Mid-Career Photographer Award as recommended by Jimmy Domingo (official nomination letter received 4 March) and at around 2AM today,  I received a text from THE Yumi Goto (currently based in Bangkok) that she sent me an email. When I checked it out, she is nominating me for the Sagamihara Photo City Asian Prize 2011! Deadlines are looming.

Thanx to both photographers for the heads up and believing in my work.

Now, the hard part begins. I have to chose what to submit, edit as well as tie ends together for a better work as I await feedback from a Scandinavian photo festival if my documentary photography proposal made it.

Crossing fingers.

Series 2: Portraits, limited edition business cards now available

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

The Portraits Series, my second limited edition business cards are now available. Featuring five portraits with each card editioned at 40 units with five of each, kept as my copy. Like my first, I did away with the mailing address. Instead, I only included contact information as well as portfolio URL. Not bad for a design that focuses more on the kind of images that I do.

I am a documentary photographer

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

I will be. That is what I aspire to be. To tell the stories that matters to me and to my country. For now. Tomorrow the world. It ain’t easy. I still have a long way to go. Many things to learn. Do I have a chance? Yes. I have. I have the skills. I have the mindset. But not necessarily the wealth to support a documentary photographer’s life. I need to work through that though. There are always possibilities. There’s a way.

I am a documentary photographer. I will be.
