The "Identity Sucks" book where my work is one of the featured images

Franklin

My black and white environmental portrait of my cousin, Franklin, is included in World Identity Lab’s Identity Sucks project and was off to press last 5 October!

To look back, I was invited by Christian Schlager to contribute and, until its close, I am the lone Philippine entry. When they did a video interview on identity, I was one of five selected.

Now, I’m awaiting this interesting book with contributions from 108 photographers from 78 countries. It should be on its way by post when its finished publication.

Exhibition space for our group show housed in a converted building that used to be a paper factory. Photo c/o Zhuang Wubin

Exhibition venue. Photo c/o Kamthorn Paowattanasuk

Zhuang Wubin, the curator of our group show, Notes from the South: New Photography from Southeast Asia tagged me in Facebook with the images showing our work being exhibited. I didn’t expect that all the images I submitted were printed and mounted.

The venue used to be an old paper factory. While it’s not really the best layout, I’m quite happy. Too bad I wasn’t able to go there.

My first article and two images for Smart on the Epic Relay 250 published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, 6 July, at Lifestyle section. CLICK TO READ.

This is my first article that has been published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the country’s top broadsheet!

Printed last 6 July, it is one of two articles that I wrote for Smart when I was commissioned to cover its two teams during the Epic Relay 250 in Subic. I documented them and later wrote two related articles.

The article is also available online at the Philippine Daily Inquirer website. Last year, I got featured in the same broadsheet too.
