My Gagamboys photo work exhibited as one of the featured photo stories

Ribbon cutting

Asian News in Pictures opened last night at the THE BLOCK, 3/F SM North Edsa and I was one of the featured photographers where my work, Gagamboys, is one of six featured photo stories. One of my images from the Ritual of Faith series (below) is also included in the Singles.

This 19th September, I will be conducting a guided tour where I will talk about the exhibition, the Gagamboys photo project, and about Photojournalism to several high school campus journalists in Quezon City schools starting at 1200H until around 1800H. If you’re interested, just drop by. The exhibition will run until the 26th before transferring to another venue in Metro Manila.

UNA, 9 new photo documentary stories exhibition opening night

THE Alex Baluyut conducted his first masterclass in documentary photography and the result is UNA, an exhibition of the works of his nine students which opened at the Manila Collective the other night. What made this interesting were the varied themes that the students did. Two works caught my eye: Julie Batula’s cockfighting story, One Way Out, with very interesting visuals and Rommel Rebollido’s Crumpled Dreams, Wrinkled Realities which offered intimate images.

The exhibition runs until 8 September at the Cubao X complex.
