A Malabon marian fluvial procession

Monday, December 13th, 2010

I was fortunately invited by Richard Bautista to visit and check what Malabon City has to offer and I wasn’t disappointed. From heritage houses, great food and interesting history, I was full and wanting for more! It was also good that it was Barangay Concepcion’s Immaculate Conception feast day and I was treated to a fluvial procession overflowing with faith and revelry.

The antique image of the Immaculate Conception is borne on the shoulders of these devotees along the streets of Brgy. Concepcion

At the Earth Day Run 2010

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

This is my first organized run for a newbie like me and I still managed to take some images before and after the race. The Earth Day Run was sponsored by the NatGeo Channel and benefits Design Against the Elements (DAtE). More at FitandRun.Info.

I was wide eyed at the Minor Basilica of San Sebastian

Friday, April 9th, 2010

I’ve always been intrigued with the all steel church of the Minor Basilica of San Sebastian. Thanx to Tina Paterno, who will be heading a restoration project of this impressive edifice, I was able to appreciate further and take preliminary shots of the interior for a future feature in simbahan.net and to help Tina with her advocacy/project.

I can’t help but be wide eyed at the fan vaulting, the neo gothic details of this church but also disheartened at deterioration of the iron cladding that is quite prominent in the interior. These are just a few of the images I took and will be shooting the basilica by next week. Stay tuned.

About the images, I prefer to do this in black and white to focus more on the architectural details than be distracted by the colors and lights.
