Having a great time shooting interiors in Phuket
For the past weeks, ever since I arrived here in Phuket last 23 December 2015, I’ve been busy shooting interiors for a booking website. And I’m not complaining as, for the first time, I am trying out this new kind of lifestyle where I travel to work as well as have a good time not only in the Philippines but in other countries as well. While before, my travels abroad were purely leisure and limited to a few days or just a week, well, the longest I had was in Europe for 11 days last 2012, this time, I’m targeting more than a month!
I am also taking advantage of the 30 days visa free stay in another ASEAN country, Thailand, and making it as a measure of this experiment. In 10 days, this visa free stay will lapse and I need to leave Thailand and, regarding my work, I am almost within my target. Just a few more scheduled shoots this week and I am good. This experiment looks good and I am setting my sights to other tourist areas in Thailand to go back to probably at the end of February. But for the meantime, I’m not going back, not just yet to the Philippines as I plan to witness the Thaipusam festival in Penang, Malaysia, happening on 24 January. And try to shoot there too.
This work/leisure travel lifestyle definitely would be a good thing, if I decide to pursue it in the long run. Traveling long term outside the Philippines which is supported with work while on the road and is a great opportunity also for me as a travel blogger as I can feature the places I want to. But for now, it will be mainly month long stays in Thailand with side trips in adjacent countries. And if funds will permit me, travel farther.
