During the Lakbay Norte media tour, there were two drivers who alternately go behind the wheel while we went around North Luzon. One of them is Rey, comedic and funny that sometimes makes us laugh and smile during the boring moments inside the bus. These portraits were taken at the Blue Lagoon in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte during a stop at one resort..

Surfing is a big sport in La Union province especially at the long stretch of coast in the municipality of San Juan. Here many amateurs and advanced surfers visit the place because of the constant waves emanating from the South China Sea. For resort operators, surfing lessons are part of the services taught mainly by locals who became reknowned for their expertise in this non Filipino water sport.

One of the popular surfers there is Luke Landrigan that had the women swooning.

For the past five days, I’ve been on the road with other media people who write or blog about traveling in the Philippines upon the invitation of the North Philippines Visitors’ Bureau, the organizer of the media tour to explore and experience what this part of the country offers. From Manila, we headed to Cagayan province, rounded off the Ilocos provinces, Baguio City and Benguet and on to Pangasinan, Tarlac and Pampanga.

While waiting for the 4×4 vehicles for our rendezvous at the sand dunes of Suba, Ilocos Norte, I was able to take these portraits of some of the delegates.
