Good Friday in Angeles City

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

I was in Angeles City for Holy Week and was able to come close to the flagellants in this part of the country. Blood splattered, it didn’t stop me from taking images until the crucifixion. I lingered until the procession way into the night.

Check out my latest downloadable photo e-books that I have just recently uploaded in two other blogs.

Langyaw #04: Semana Santa in Lucban is my latest issue of my e-magazine version of my travel blog that focuses on the lenten rituals of Lucban, a town in Quezon rich in tradition, culture and heritage.

On the other hand, Visita Iglesia: Pre-war Intramuros is a continuation of my visita iglesia download series but this time, I’m featuring seven of the major churches which are no longer, except for 2, existing in the walled city.

Crimson Hot, my first article in Bluprint Magazine’s April issue

Page spread of my first article. I also did the photography

Magazine cover

My first article for BluPrint magazine’s April 2011 issue is now out in bookstores and magazine stands!

A few months ago, I was asked to photograph this beautiful resort in Mactan Island, Cebu but eventually, I was asked to write the article too. With trepidation, I accepted. I should confess, I don’t have a background in architecture except that I do architectural photography with some books credited to me and articles too in this magazine. But write?

Okay, I was a bit anxious at first but eventually, I was able to assemble a couple of paragraphs, almost a thousand word article. I did some research, read BluPrint’s writing style and the result? My editor, Judith Torres emailed:

First pass… I like it.

Whew! It got only a few edits and some minor clarifications. And I was greatly relieved. Check the magazine out. This is also my first assignment to do architectural shots of a modern structure (I focus on heritage buildings like Filipino baroque churches and houses). More please.
