Catholic mass at the atrium of Shangri-la Plaza Mall

I was waiting for this mass as the one I shot before was held in one of the small floors. This time, the 1100H Sunday mass is held at the cavernous atrium. Like the one in Ayala Center Mall, Cebu, the view is something that reminds one of the massive cathedrals in Europe but a different setting.

    For the first time, I wanted to walk out of a mass. The priest in Shangri-la Mall said “God hates Japan, that’s why tsunami happened”. After that, a lot of people walked out of the mass angry and shouting what a bad priest he is. Who is he to say bad things about a foreign country. So disappointing!

    Nagsimula yan sa RH Bill, kasi Japan daw ang nagmanufacture ng high quality condoms at effective birth control pills. This RH Bill argument is getting out of hand. Sino pa kaya nakarinig nun sa Mass kahapon sa Shangri-la mall.????

      Yes, unfortunately, there are some priests who go out of bounds. that remarks is not only tasteless, its also irresponsible.

    BTW, the mass was held in Shangri-La Mall, MAY 01, 2011. A Sunday-mass in a mall.

    i also attended a mass at shang a week ago. maybe it’s the same priest! when he started talking about the RH Bill and connecting it to how God was punishing Japan. I couldnt stand listening to him. whats worse is, everyone just kept laughing coz he kept on inserting mini hirits.

    clarification: the people werent laughing at his statements about japan. they were laughing coz of his jokes that he inserted during his homily.
